That's about 35% more approval rating than the sitting President had a year ago...
Rasmussen today:
"Overall, 49% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Fifty percent (50%) disapprove."

...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....
and 43% lower than that same sitting president 8 years ago......
Things change..............

So, exactly how do you think that same president went from huge approval numbers to the worst in the past half century? I''l tell ya: by creating the mess that the current President has to clean up...and that's gonna take way more than 8 years.
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....
If there were an actual desire to "clean up" anything it could be done in far less than 8 years. The fact is both parties have sold the American people out and most of the core problems will never be addressed because both parties are a party to their existence.
Just look at Obama's flip-flop on free-trade. Without a manufacturing base we cannot and will not recover, with the current free-trade agreements in place we cannot and will not ever have a manufacturing base again.
No country can ever or will ever prosper by having it's citizens do each others laundry for a living, which is essentially what we are left with.

False...you can't clean up the mess W made in 8 years. You're talking 2 wars, 8 years of debt (including the first "stimulus" handouts), patching up alliances Bush destroyed, steadying an economy Bush's policies crippled, and restoring America's reputation....Maybe 2 of those can be fixed in 8 years.
American jobs started going overseas long before Obama's Presidency. Bush could have fixed some of the loopholes in the free trade agreements but never did. When American companies decide to employ Americans in America, we will have a manufacturing base...not until then..( http://www.cceia.org/resources/transcripts/5054.html ) Obama doesn't control that...and let's not forget Obama doesn't make the laws...
Eventually, you conservatives are gonna have to wake up and face the facts....Bush's administration nearly destroyed our country...and another 4 years of the GOP would have destroyed our country IMO. You don't just fix a mess like that. It takes time, effort, overhauls of programs, and money...and that money will come from US taxpayers. It won't just come from the well off either. It will include the people that live in government housing, draw a check from the government, collect food stamps, and then turn around and vote for the GOP...(many of which are too uneducated to realize it is the same party that works against them.)
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....
It is way too early to say Obama failed.
But I do want to make some points;
LBJ was mediocre, at best. and I like the guy. He was forced to sign the Civil Rights Act, Vietnam, shady backroom Texas politics, and some feel an involvement in the JFK assassination.
Wilson had his faults, but he was also very progressive on a world wide front.
Wilson laid out th basis for the League of Nations, which I give him tons of credit for.
Carter, well Jimmy wasnt President material. He was a great person, and a righteous man, but not a good President.
Reagan wasn't either, no matter waht people try and tell you.
His economic policies almost ruined our country. Trickle-down economics would have set us in a depression if it wasn't for the Tech boom.
'Star Wars', Iran-Contra (which I do not blame all on Reagan, he was in the dark, no doubt. But that doesn't excuse him any more than we excuse Clinton for Somalia)
Reagan was a movie star who spoke a good game, and let his advisors do all the work.
He was a big reason for the crack epidemic, and the drug boom in the 1990's. Instead of education and resources, Just Say No was almost as stupid as abstience by Palin.
Reagan basically started the war on drugs....another unwinnable war...Just like throwin money down a well.
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....
well Nixon officialy started the War on Drugs, but Reagan was a perpetuator of lies about drugs.
